The Paradox of HPV Vaccines: How to Reach Sexually Inexperienced Women for Protection Against a Sexually Transmitted Infection

摘要: Abstract Purpose The current study examined the impact of a human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine message tailored for sexually inexperienced women. Methods We included 193 young women, aged 17 to 26, attending university, who completed an on-line questionnaire. participants were randomly assigned three conditions that manipulated type information they received on HPV and vaccine: control (minimal information, sexual transmission omitted), detailed (emphasized HPV), or (the same as detailed, but also emphasized benefit women). Results Women with no experience intended receive more in condition than ( q = 3.46; p 5.11; 1.45; NS). Conclusion This found women resulted higher intentions compared messages not tailored. When providing about vaccines patients, it may be particularly important emphasize are most efficacious if before onset activity. results suggest this is effective increasing women's interest avoiding altogether.
