摘要: HIV self-testing (HIVST) is increasingly being sought and offered globally, yet there limited information about the test features that will be required for an self-test to easy use, acceptable users, feasible manufacturers produce. We conducted formative usability research with participants who were naive HIVST using five prototypes in Kenya, Malawi, South Africa. The tests selected ranged from early-stage commercially ready products had a diverse set of features. A total 150 lay users video-recorded conducting unsupervised interviewed understand their opinions test. Participants did not receive result, but interpreted standardized result panels. This study demonstrated refer instructions included test, these can confusing or difficult follow. Errors common, less than 25 % all steps correctly 47.3 performing multiple errors, particularly sample collection transfer. also difficulty interpreting results. To overcome issues, ideal requires pictorial are understand, simple integrated components, fewer steps, results interpret.
