摘要: This study assessed the spatial distribution of vulnerability to extreme heat in 1990 and 2000 within metropolitan Phoenix based on an index seven equally weighted measures physical exposure adaptive capacity. These were derived from spatially interpolated climate, normalized differential vegetation index, U.S. Census data. From resulting maps, we also analyzed population groups living areas high vulnerability. Results revealed that landscapes changed substantially response variations socioeconomic factors, with significant alterations especially between eastern western sectors Phoenix. changes worked detriment Phoenix's Hispanic elderly concentrated urban-fringe retirement communities.
