摘要: Deep sternal wound infection (DSWI) is a serious complication post cardiac surgery and associated with increased mortality, morbidity cost. Sternal titanium plate fixation could be an effective approach to treat DSWI. We sought compare the effectiveness of conventional in treatment Retrospective data was analyzed from consecutive patients DSWI who received either (sternal group) or debridement rewiring (control group). Pre-operative risk factors post-operative clinical outcome were compared between 2 groups. A total 36 (mean age 65.0 ± 8.6, 63.9 % male) group whereas 26 64.0 ± 13.4, 65.4 % control group. The mean follow-up period 15.92 months. major pre-operative comorbidities comparable rate receiving multiple procedures (≥3) significantly lower (5.6 % vs. 26.9 %, P = 0.03). Patients had no failure, 42.3 % failure requiring muscle flaps reconstruction by plastic (0 % 42.3 %, P < 0.001). There trend in-hospital mortality (11.1 % 19.2 %, P = 0.47) Compared treatment, appears have favorable outcome.
