摘要: Background Caffeine consumption has been associated to decreased levels of liver enzymes and lower risk fibrosis in patients with hepatitis C virus. Objectives This study aimed evaluate the association between caffeine inflammatory activity or degree virus infection. Methods A cross-sectional chronic infection treated an outpatient Gastroenterology Unit Santa Casa Hospital (Porto Alegre - Brasil). Patients were interviewed regarding anthropometric assessment was performed. Liver biopsy performed a maximum period 36 months before inclusion Results There 113 patients, 67 (59.3%) females, 48 (42.5%) aged 52 62 years, 101 (89.4%) white.
