Theory of Atomic Optical Potential in Solid Application to Electron-Helium Scattering

摘要: We develop an approximation for the optical potential in a solid valid at intermediate energies, i.e., above about 50 eV. The present is based on GW-expression. separate RPA polarization propagator into core-electron and valence-electron part, can then achieve corresponding separation of potential. apply this method to electron-He elastic scattering, we find satisfactory agreement with observed results. also study importance self-consistency, sensitivity parameter, average excitation energy .
