Occlusal stabilization appliance: evaluation of its efficacy in the treatment of temporomandibular disorders

摘要: A placa estabilizadora e o mais difundido metodo de tratamento das disfuncoes temporo-mandibulares. Ressonância Magnetica (RM) exame indicado para a visualizacao dos componentes da Articulacao temporo-mandibular (ATM). Quarenta pacientes com sinais sintomas temporo-mandibulares foram tratados as placas estabilizadoras por um periodo medio 12 meses, controles periodicos quinzenais. Apos estabilizacao do quadro clinico realizados ajustes oclusais avaliacao meio RM. Concluimos que os melhores resultados dessa modalidade sao relacionados melhora total (70%) ou parcial (22,5%) sintomatologia dolorosa ao restabelecimento funcao complexo crânio-mandibular. RM permitiu avaliar concluir possibilitam condicoes organismo possa criar meios resistentes articulacao eliminacao varios fatores etiologicos. E apos tratamento, podem conviver deslocamentos disco, alguns maior, outros menor tolerância.
