摘要: The genetic contribution to schizophrenia is widely accepted, yet none of the proposed models transmission has been convincing. Schizophrenia generally viewed as aetiologically homogeneous with exception supposedly rare "phenocopies" associated organic brain lesions and without a family history. However, up one-third schizophrenics have enlarged cerebral ventricles, this appears be consequence environmental damage. Although aetiology comprises components acting in variable proportions, simple division into familial sporadic cases would facilitate research. Families several ill members will most valuable for molecular studies, while new imaging techniques should particularly directed towards cases.
