摘要: Plants of the genus Phyllanthus, principally Phyllanthus amarus, urinaria, niruri, and tenellus, are used in Brazilian folk medicine to treat kidney stones as well other ailments, where latter two species listed Pharmacopeia quebra-pedra (stone-breaker). However, only P. niruri has been shown be effective a clinical setting. Nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS1 – 5.8S rRNA-ITS2), 2, chloroplasts rbcL, matK, psbA-trnH, trnL, trnL-trnF were screened for their potential DNA barcodes identification 48 taxa medicinal plant germplasm banks “living pharmacies”. The markers also tested ability validate four commercial herbal teas labelled quebra-pedra. Using criterion high clade posterior probability Bayesian phylogenetic analysis, spacer, chloroplast all reliably differentiated species, with matK possessing additional advantage that is represented these Genbank database. case some clades was low while amarus tenellus formed monophyletic groups, urinaria accessions could not distinguished this marker. Packaged dried herb from three suppliers comprised but one sample found mixed alfalfa (Medicago sativa). An marketed fourth supplier composed mixture Desmodium barbatum niruri.
