Web-based interactive TV services for older users

摘要: This article reports a study that explored user requirements for web-based interactive TV (iTV) services from the perspective of older users. Members University Third Age (U3A) group were recruited in order to explore potential iTV be used as tool mediating social communities. Focus groups and trials participants’ reactions concept identify barriers use. The found service offered some contexts several advantages personal computer use valued by participants. However, significant physical cognitive identified, such cost services, lack privacy, information overload learning interface equipment. Recommendations designing users, generated response these concerns, include keeping simple, avoiding multi-modal keys on keypad providing portals tailored interests
