摘要: Purpose Visualization of carotid artery stenosis is important to improve our understanding the etiology ischemic stroke. Two sonographic methods are available for visualizing stenosis: power Doppler imaging (PDI) and color (CDI). The purpose this study was compare advantages limitations these in evaluation internal (ICA) stenosis. Methods Thirty-two patients with at least 70% extracranial ICA were included prospective study. All subjects examined CDI PDI. Four criteria used evaluate diagnostic accuracy overall efficacy: identifying target vessel, determining causal pathology, evaluating blood flow, examiner's confidence diagnosis. Results All had high-grade (17 stenosis, 11 80%, 2 90%, pseudo-occlusions ICA). PDI significantly (p < 0.05) superior vessel highly 0.01) flow. There no significant differences between pathology or diagnosis. Conclusions This demonstrates that a good additional method should be it stenosis. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
