摘要: High carbohydrate diets can affect the health and behaviour of foals, but mechanisms are not always fully understood. The objective this study was to compare effects feeding a starch sugar (SS), or fat (oil) fibre (FF) rich diet two groups eight foals. Diets were fed from 4 42 weeks age, alongside ad libitum forage. Faecal pH levels did differ significantly between endoscopic examination showed that gastric mucosa healthy in both at 25 age. At 40 SS foals had higher total blood glucose lower gastrin than FF during 6h period following ingestion their respective diets, insulin significantly. ratio serum tryptophan other large neutral amino acids trend towards an interaction sampling time. results provide preliminary information about on physiology young horses.
