摘要: We introduce a new jet shape—N-subjettiness—designed to identify boosted hadronically-decaying objects like electroweak bosons and top quarks. Combined with invariant mass cut, N-subjettiness is an effective discriminating variable for tagging rejecting the background of QCD jets large mass. In efficiency studies boostedW quarks, we find efficiencies 30% are achievable fake rates 1%. also consider discovery potential heavy resonances that decay pairs objects, significant improvements possible using N-subjettiness. this way, combines advantages shapes power seen in previous substructure algorithms.
