The isolation and molecular characterization of Leishmania spp. from patients with American tegumentary leishmaniasis in northwest Argentina.

摘要: American tegumentary leishmaniasis (ATL) is a group of zoonotic diseases caused by kinetoplastid flagellates the genus Leishmania. A total 66 patients diagnosed as positive ATL cases from northwest Argentina were included in this study. Leishmania stocks isolated vitro and analyzed over promastigote cultures sown on FTA through nested PCR sequence cytochrome b (cyt b). The molecular analysis resulted incrimination L. (Viannia) braziliensis predominant species studied area, identifying two genotypes (V.) braziliensis, 24 Ab-1 cyt 41 Ab-2 b. One guyanensis strain was obtained traveler Brazilian Amazon. prevalence different agreement with previous studies, suggesting necessity for new systems to study genetic diversity more detail.
