Early Language Milestone Scale and Language Screening of Young Children

摘要: The purpose of this project was to evaluate the use Early Language Milestone Scale (ELM) in screening language skills young children. In study, 657 children from birth 36 months age were evaluated with ELM. overall failure rate 8%. Children who failed ELM Sequenced Inventory Communication Development (SICD) that used as "gold standard" for diagnosing disorders. 12-month and younger group, there poor agreement between SICD. For infants 13 24 age, moderately good SICD a second administered 1 2 weeks after initial screening. 25- 36-month excellent rescreen two instruments indicated correctly classified 79% 13- 24-month-old 89% 36-month-old toddlers.
