摘要: AIM The present investigation was conducted to study the association between udder morphology and in vitro activity of milk leukocytes high yielding crossbred cows. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total 48 healthy cows were selected for study. configuration teat/udder recorded before milking. Milk samples (100 ml/cow) collected aseptically. somatic cell counts (SCC) differential leukocyte performed microscopically. (viz., neutrophils, lymphocytes, macrophages) isolated from by density gradient centrifugation. Phagocytic index (PI) neutrophils macrophages evaluated colorimetric nitro blue tetrazolium assay. Lymphocytes proliferation response estimated MTT assay expressed as stimulation index. RESULTS There a significant (p<0.01) positive correlation SCC with mid teat diameter, base diameter (p<0.05) negative height ground. found be significantly lower bowl-shaped higher pendulous type. macrophage percentage positively correlated circumference. PI neutrophil negatively apex diameter. Both animals having flat round type udder. In teat. teats compared pointed cylindrical teats. CONCLUSION Udder risk factors such shape size, floor distance, shape, size may decrease hence facilitates incidence intramammary infections.
