摘要: Objective: To compare the annual direct costs for patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and no parkinsonism (AD), AD (AD/P), dementia Lewy bodies (DLB). For entire sample, authors examined incremental associated increasing parkinsonism. Methods: Cross-sectional comparisons of 1 year were done. Fifteen met criteria DLB, 133 probable AD, whom 39 had signs 94 did not. Patients’ caregivers reported on patient’s use health care services, receipt unpaid care, comorbid medical conditions. Severity cognitive impairment determined during patient examinations. Costs estimated by multiplying utilization data a unit cost each type care. compared after adjustment covariates using multiple regression equations. Results: After adjusting important covariates, AD/P or DLB significantly higher than AD. The average adjusted increases in above baseline $7,119 (AD/P) $13,754 (DLB) formal $7,394 $19,564 total costs. Models sample that 1-point increase scale would result an $784 $827 Conclusions: Patients have disease. Signs degenerative dementias are significant independent predictors
