RELIABILITY OF SWEDISH ALCOHOL STATISTICS IN TRAFFIC FATALITIES - A COMPARISON BETWEEN OFFICIAL STATISTICS AND BLOOD ALCOHOL ANALYSIS

摘要: Police assessment of alcohol impairment was compared with blood analyses on 1,191 driver fatalities in Sweden during 1982, 1985 and 1988. Alcohol detected twice as high a proportion victims (23 percent) to police inebriation (12 percent). The mean concentration detectable considered sober by the 1.4 o/oo. To avoid biases regarding, e.g., sex age, we suggest that statistics traffic should be based performed all present statistics, only, abolished.
