摘要: Study objective To identify critical emergency medicine–focused firearm injury research questions and develop an evidence-based agenda. Methods National content experts were recruited to a technical advisory group for the American College of Emergency Physicians Research Committee. Nominal technique was used by consensus. The decided focus on 5 widely accepted categorizations injury. Subgroups conducted literature reviews each topic developed preliminary lists medicine–relevant questions. In-person meetings conference calls held iteratively refine extensive list questions, following nominal guidelines. Feedback from external stakeholders reviewed integrated. Results Fifty-nine final identified, including that cut across all topics specific self-directed violence (suicide attempted suicide), intimate partner violence, peer (nonpartner) mass unintentional ("accidental") Some could be addressed through in departments; others would require work other settings. Conclusion identified key medicine–specific data are limited most these Funders researchers should consider increasing their attention prevention control, particularly here recently agendas.
