摘要: Degree days are commonly used within the Australian cotton industry to estimate expected crop development during early season growth. This assumes that cotton’s potential is largely a function of temperature. Information collected on over range field and controlled environment studies shows currently calculate degree does not fully reflect effect very high or low temperatures development. More complex functions available which can better represent temperature as seen in experimental data. Refining this will enable predictions greater environments seasons; important for geographically expanding industry.
