摘要: Natural flow regimes represent the hydrologic conditions to which native aquatic organisms are best adapted. We completed a regional river classification and quantitative descriptions of each natural regime for Ozark–Ouachita Interior Highlands region Arkansas, Missouri Oklahoma. On basis daily records from 64 reference streams, seven were identified with mixture model cluster analysis: Groundwater Stable, Groundwater, Flashy, Perennial Runoff, Runoff Intermittent Flashy. Sets metrics selected that quantified nine ecologically important components these regimes. An uncertainty analysis was performed avoid selecting strongly affected by measurement can result short periods record. Measurement uncertainties (bias, precision accuracy) assessed 170 commonly used metrics. The ranges variability expected select under provide future assessments alteration. A random forest predict all stream segments in study area based on climate catchment characteristics, map produced. geographic distribution suggested distinct ecohydrological regions may be useful conservation planning. This project provides foundation examination flow–ecology relationships region. Published 2014. article is U.S. Government work public domain USA.
