Shift of Mode-Hopping Wavelength in Single-Mode Semiconductor Lasers

摘要: The shifts of the wavelength position that a radiation mode jumps from one longitudinal to next in semiconductor lasers have been studied. variation gain curve is found depend not only on junction temperature but also carrier density. hops occur at different wavelengths and temperatures as injection current changes. A systematic approach controlling could extend tuning range much greater extent. wider will provide free-running diode laser capable readily reaching specific atomic or molecular transition.
