摘要: Abstract Annual fluxes of particulate 230Th and 231Pa collected by sediment traps deployed at two locations in the Ross Sea are compared to expected fluxes, derived combining seasonal depletion surface waters with steady-state production each nuclide radioactive decay its respective dissolved uranium parent. Conservative (minimum) estimates flux greater than ∼200 m factors 3 6 sites. The actual discrepancy may be much larger. discrepancies between measured slightly smaller, but comparable magnitude those for 230Th. these natural radionuclides similar determined previously, using same traps, organic carbon, which suggests that undercollected sinking particles.
