摘要: This paper presents experimental results of a newly developed compressed natural gas (CNG) fuelled direct injection (DI) engine, which was by modifying single cylinder CI engine. Major modifications included: a) in head and piston; b) development installation electronic CNG DI system; c) capacitive discharge ignition system. Experiments were conducted at constant fuel pressure engine speed performance, emission combustion characteristics this with varying timings [i.e., start (SOI)] loads brake mean effective (BMEP)] investigated. Moderate lead to faster more complete the fuel, thus improving performance reducing emissions for specific timings. Advanced improved (lower BSFC, higher BTE); reduced produced ROHR whereas retarded injections delivered opposite trends each load. [Received: July 25, 2013; Accepted: February 16, 2014]
