摘要: Iron deficiency is a common cause of anemia worldwide (World Health Organization 1975). Since iron plays role in tissue oxygen delivery (as component red cell hemoglobin), cellular utilization mitochondrial cytochromes and oxidases), diverse metabolic processes cofactor for various microsomal cytoplasmic enzymes), not only limits erythropoiesis but impairs many other systemic functions as well. Moreover, frequently signals the presence pathologic source gastrointestinal blood loss. Thus, recognition deficiency, determination its cause, effective replacement are particularly important. While pharmacologic use both prevention treatment relatively well defined, metabolism complex process which still completely understood.
