摘要: Abstract The reaction of α-carbomethoxy-γ-benzylidenebutenolide with diazomethane has been studied, and the β-methylbutenolide structure resulting product established through degradative synthetic work. Extension this direct C-methylation to other related butenolides is presented. Hydrogenation enol lactones discussed in some detail.
