摘要: With the increasing occurrence of adynamic bone disease, it is essential to determine level turnover in chronically dialyzed patients before instituting vitamin D therapy. To assess value serum parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels for prediction turnover, we determined sensitivity, specificity, and predictive positive PTH, alone or combination with other variables, 79 who underwent one two biopsies. Serum PTH were by a radioimmunometric assay obtained at time Patients classified into (1) low normal (2) high according activation frequency bone. There 57 biopsy specimens taken from hemodialysis 39 continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). All within below range had turnover. Values above 450 pg/mL 100% 95.5% specific CAPD patients, respectively. between 65 worse (48.6% 78.6%) than (67.3% 87.1%). When characteristics consideration, only age ionized calcium improved PTH. younger 45 years (n = 15) higher calcium. However, overall, could not be predicted measurements 30% 51.3% patients. The data suggest that pg/mL, biopsies are indicated precisely prior initiation
