摘要: This paper focuses on the presence of third body, a solid interfacial layer in wheel-rail contact. body is studied from different viewpoints: its including composition, thickness and morphology; role with respect to load-carrying capacity, shearing behaviour, transfer material finally global friction coefficient. The general approach phenomenological carried out as closely possible real tribological behaviour this presents synthesis studies coming from: analysis specimens taken periodically rails wheels service, thus under contact conditions; test laboratories, allowing us impose rolling-sliding conditions very high precision. From all these results, better understanding influence friction, adhesion damage mechanisms (wear, pits, cracks...) reached first step for effect numerical models.
