摘要: 1. The synthesis, both in vivo and vitro, of various steroid hormones the adrenals, testes ovaries rats was compared at stages vitamin A deficiency with corresponding pair-fed controls. 2. enzymic conversion Delta(5)-3beta-hydroxy steroids into Delta(4)-3-oxo significantly decreased these tissues even mild-deficiency stage, further loss taking place on prolonging deficiency. 3. In all three production androstenedione from dehydroepiandrosterone could be reactivated vitro by retinol or retinoic acid, but only mild stage 4. Of lipoidal materials tried, retinal, retinol, alpha-tocopherol acetate, menadione, calciferol, lecithin, palmitic acid cholesterol, restored lost activity. 5. Intraperitoneal injection deficient rats, 24hr. before they were killed, corrected effect this reaction. 6. Vitamin markedly affected synthesis deoxycorticosterone corticosterone pregnenolone adrenals mildly acute stage; restore not acute-deficiency stage. 7. had no such progesterone deoxycorticosterone. 8. Compared normals, contained smaller amounts corticosterone.
