摘要: We studied physiological and morphological characteristics of woody seedlings (nurses) succulents (protected) which are distributed in an environmental gradient the Mexican Plateau. Species from mesic extreme (Aca- cia schaffneri, A. farnesiana, Opuntia jaliscana) xeric (A. Prosopis laevigata, O. streptacantha) were chosen. 24-week-old subjected for 90 days to varying levels radiation (high = 2133 mol m -2 d -1 , low 166 m-2 d-1), available moisture 60%, 30%) fertility canopy soil, open area). assessed relative growth rate its components: (leaf area ratio) (net assimilation rate), as well quantum effi ciency photosystem II (Φ PSII ), electron transport rate. Succulent had higher leaf ratio than ones. Most evaluated species grew more under high humidity conditions. The soil favored succulent species, but highest net results suggest that showed ecophysiological functioning protected best adapted establish
