摘要: Physics is validated through careful experimental work and its progress punctuated by great experiments: Newton decomposing light with prisms, Thomson’s discovery of the electron, Michelson’s experiment on speed ether etc. Direct experimentation, whether ground-based or space-based, remains method choice. Yet, high-energy physics, study fundamental constituents matter their interactions, has moved to point where it can address conditions that cannot be tested direct experimentation. Can distant Universe then used as a laboratory? How have astronomical observations expanded our knowledge physics? Is this affecting way astrophysics done? These are questions addressed in contribution.
