Influence of Clay Mineralogy on Plasticity of Lateritic Soils

摘要: Lateritic soils samples taken from four different locations were subjected to plasticity tests and clay mineralogical analysis using method of X-ray diffraction. The results the test indicate liquid limit values ranging between 35.00 52.30 %. index linear shrinkage ranges 15.73 24.70 % 8.21 16.64 respectively. mineralogy show three soil samples, having lower values, consisting mostly kaolinite as mineral, while relatively higher value (liquid %, %), shows presence a mineral chlorite group dominant mineral. This that water affinity respectively, present in this responsible for recorded values.
