User Deployment of Grid Toolkits to Engineers

摘要: Recently a full-scale deployment of the Geodise toolboxes has been performed in Computational Engineering and Design Centre, University Southampton. This included following steps: installation required software components such as Globus, Condor, Oracle, Webspere Application Server; tools; configuring available packages; training researchers via documents workshops; administering whole infrasturcutre. In this paper we present our hands-on experience from deploying hte along with challenges that may arise while Grid-enabling an existing computational cluster organisation. A special emphasis will be given to problems proposed solutions accessing COndor pools across NAT firewall using Grid infrastructure.
