摘要: Collagen-based scaffolds are appealing products for the repair of cartilage defects using tissue engineering strategies. The present study investigated species-related differences collagen with and without 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethyl aminopropyl) carbodiimide (EDC)/N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS)-crosslinking. Resistance against collagenase digestion, swelling ratio, amino acid sequence, shrinkage temperature, ultrastructural matrix morphology, crosslinking density stress–strain characteristics were determined to evaluate physico-chemical properties equine- bovine-collagen-based scaffolds. Three-factor ANOVA analysis revealed a highly significant effect type (p=0.0001), (p=0.0001) time on degradation samples by treatment. Crosslinked equine showed significantly reduced ratio compared bovine (p<0.0001). composition higher amount hydroxylysine lysine. Shrinkage temperatures non-crosslinked difference between (60°C) (57°C). condition rupture strength measured analysis. ultrastructure, strain at matrices both species no differences. For purposes, enzymatic stability, form as well lower risk transmissible disease make case considering equine-based collagen. This also indicates that results obtained based certain may not be transferable another, because differing properties.
