摘要: Abstract Macrophage inhibitory cytokine-1 (MIC-1), a divergent member of transforming growth factor-β superfamily, has been recently shown to be produced by the human placenta with detectable levels in maternal serum. In this study, using immunohistochemistry, we have localized MIC-1 placenta, decidua and foetal membranes across pregnancy and, an enzyme-linked immunoassay, measured serum normal pregnancy, association labour pre-eclampsia. was principally syncytiotrophoblast while present amniotic epithelium, chorionic trophoblasts adherent decidual cells. There were no differences staining distribution or intensity placentae between women not labour, healthy pre-eclamptic pregnancies. slightly stronger after delivery compared those delivered elective Caesarean section. increased advancing gestation but there significant associated either These observations would consistent having roles at maternal–foetal interface, perhaps establishment and/or maintenance pregnancy. Our data argue against role regulation pathophysiology
