摘要: Tailings from the abandoned Tiouit mine site in Morocco are mainly composed of sulfides, hematite, and quartz. They contain 0.06–1.50 wt % sulfur, mostly form pyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite. The tailings also gold (3.36–5.00 ppm), silver (24–37 copper (0.06–0.08 %). Flotation tests were conducted to reprocess for Au, Ag, Cu recovery, at same time prevent acid drainage (AMD) generation through oxidation sulfide minerals, including sphalerite, arsenopyrite, chalcopyrite, galena. flotation results confirmed that environmental desulfurization is effective reducing overall content tailings. recovery sulfides was between 69% 75%, while Au weight-yield 2.8% 4.7%. test showed best sulfur rate carried out with 100 g/t CuSO4 (sulfide activator) 50 amyl xanthate (collector). goal this study assess remaining acid-generating potential (AP) acid-neutralizing (NP) desulfurized tailing. geochemical behavior initial sample compared using kinetic weathering cell tests. leachates higher pH values than those tailings, which clearly acid-generating. residual acidity produced by most likely caused hydrolysis Fe-oxyhydroxides.
