摘要: Abstract A cross-sectional study was implemented to determine which factors related management, housing and stockperson in the farrowing quarters were associated with preweaning mortality piglets weaned per litter swine breeding herds. The associations sought separately for two most common types of production Quebec. Forty-eight randomly-selected independent farms 38 others belonging integrated organizations specialized conveniently chosen among largest Quebec participated study. Preweaning performances computed from sow records. Information on features gathered during visit quarters. Management practices obtained through a questionnaire working his or her personality traits evaluated test. Backward elimination procedure used build multiple linear regression models each measure performance type farm. procedures started groups variables taken altogether, leading building different models. Piglets averaged 8.9 8.6 farms, respectively mortality, 14.4 15.4%, respectively. On high (high number low mortality) routinely washing crates, vaccination sows against neonatal diarrhea, crates equipped bottom bars, partially-slotted floors pens self-discipline stockperson. Poor use oxytocin around farrowing, mixed nursery-farrowing being exaggeratedly self-assured sensitive. at also poor performances, as well several rooms all-in/all-out quarters, medium totally-slotted rather bold, suspecting tense. High positively warmth, emotional stability These findings provided evidences influence stockperson's particular, management more proactive (implying stronger relationship between pigs). In contrast, importance general hygiene health control emphasized farms.
