摘要: Cannabis is one of the most common drugs in United States and third prevalent substance consumed by adults aged 50 years older. Normal aging associated with physiological changes that make older vulnerable to impaired function geriatric conditions (e.g., falls, cognitive impairment). However, impact medical cannabis use on fall risk remains unexplored. The purpose this study was investigate if influences risk, function, motor function. It hypothesized chronic users would perform worse than non-users gait, balance, tests. Sixteen adults, split into Users age- sex-matched Non-Users groups (n = 8/group), participated study. results indicate a higher leg standing balance performance, slower gait speed vs. Non-Users. No significant differences were found. Thus, purported exacerbate poorer control velocity normal aging. Future mechanistic neuroimaging) investigations short- long-term effects using variety products THC/CBD ratios, routes administration) incidence are suggested.
