Publication subsidies: challenges and dilemmas facing South African researchers.

摘要: In an attempt to encourage and enhance research productivity in higher educational institutions, various systems have been introduced. Currently South Africa, a government subsidy is granted institutions reward for outputs (primarily journal publications postgraduate student graduations). The purpose of this article not attack the current or past publication but rather enlighten researchers, especially emerging on benefits risks other used outputs. With aim mind, comparison versus previous African funding formulae will be made positive negative impacts these (focusing primarily one currently use) discussed light international experiences using similar such approaches. essence I wish highlight challenges dilemmas faced by researchers education as they strive find ways increase while simultaneously sustaining enhancing quality impact outputs, order maintain and/or gain national recognition.
