摘要: Mixed mode fracture in a certain high strength steel has been investigated through physical experiments and numerical calculations. The main objective to investigate the implications of local crack tip processes on macroscopic mixed behaviour. A scrutiny fractured specimens revealed evidence branching all cases where β_eq < 40° ( = atan K_I /K_II ) ). appearance was found be accompanied rather abrupt increase toughness. In calculations effective plastic strain criterion suggested by Hallback Nilsson (1994) applied present material. Crack from analysis predicted occur at 60°. Besides presence branching, it however questionable whether corroborated experimentally observed
