摘要: Abstract For over three decades, the need for closure (NFC) construct has played a pivotal role in research programs addressing motivational underpinnings of knowledge formation, judgment and decision making, social group cognition. In recent years, NFC entered new phase with notable developments both fundamental applied research. The substantial progress domain basic pertains to investigators’ renewed interest NFC's essentials, including its nature, mobilization task investment, interplay between needs abilities implications measurement NFC, relation cognitive depletion, effects on memory phenomena, genetic neural correlates. second major development efforts expand from lab environment real-world settings, work groups organizations, influence counteraction prejudice, violent extremism. this chapter, developmental trends are discussed, highlighting their contributions an advanced understanding human cognition behavior.
