摘要: Abstract Comprehensive approaches integrating ecological and socio-economic objectives are fundamental pillars in the design of more sustainable agroecosystems. To this purpose, we formulated an optimization model aimed to support decisions behind planning agricultural ecosystems. We demonstrate proposed approach onto agroecosystems at regeneration deforested lands Peruvian Amazon investigate how different influence species composition overall sustainability performance. The incorporates three dimensions into objectives, i.e., annual income (economic dimension), diversity (environmental stability (social dimension). obtained results show, firstly, relevant tradeoffs between economic objective social ones, with significant reductions short term incomes highest levels diversity. Secondly, compositions changes over time depending on life cycle selected following succession paths. Finally, also determines heterogeneous structures, these jointly good premises for ecosystem multi-functionality. highlighted major methodological challenges agroecosystems, which mainly linked conflict trade-off analysis, long-term assessment, non steady-state solutions, lack data. Despite challenges, framework can quantitatively understanding pursuing both conservation productivity put basis future detailed models.
