摘要: As part of a community-wide study examining time trends in the incidence and case-fatality rates (CFR) patients hospitalized with acute myocardial infarction (MI) sixteen hospitals Worcester, Massachusetts metropolitan area, association age to initial MI in-hospital long-term survival among 2115 validated was examined. After selected age-specific changes events between 1975 1981, markedly declined 1981 1984, resulting decreases 1984. For combined periods, CFR increased from 5.0% less than 55 years 7.9% those 64 years, 16.1% 65 74 32.1% 75 older. Among discharged hospital survivors, increasing related poorer over 5-year follow-up period. The results this population-based reinforce need for, importance of, modification coronary risk factors both young older individuals, focused therapeutic efforts salvage jeopardized myocardium elderly MI.
