摘要: Abstract Rheological and microstructural studies were performed on a Al–4wt%Cu alloy in the semi-solid state employing two different experimental techniques: indentation test simple compression test. Results showed that recrystallized microstructures exhibit lower viscosities than dendritic rheological behavior can be described by Power Law. The viscosity values analyzed terms of solid volume fraction deformation rate pseudoplasticity was thus ascertained. As for particle size shape evolution within temperature range, growth kinetics obeyed classic D 3 = K c t relation, which indicates Ostwald Ripening type growth, but particles distribution wider one predicted LSW theory. Also, comparison theoretical constants suggested coarsening due to hard impingement main mechanism.
