摘要: Purpose of review Colonization the host epithelia by pathogenic Escherichia coli is influenced ability bacteria to interact with surfaces. Because initial step an E. infection adhere, invade, and persist within cells, some strategies used intestinal extraintestinal infect cell are presented. Recent findings This highlights recent progress understanding how strains express specific adhesins or invasins that allow colonization urinary tract meninges, while able colonize different regions using other specialized invasins. Finally, evaluation diets environmental conditions regulating these pathogens discussed. Summary Discovery new interactions between epithelial cells unravels need for more mechanistic studies can provide clues regarding combat infections.
