摘要: Modern laryngeal framework surgery (LFS) requires an exact understanding of the biomechanics and precise pre-operative planning, for which bi-planar imaging is not sufficient. The aim study was to test whether MIMICS®, a commercially available software package three-dimensional (3D) rendering high-resolution computerised tomography (HRCT), suitable 3D larynx, analysis planning. We examined four cadaver larynx one patient larynx. In five larynges, all relevant structures landmarks could be visualised. Superimposing two HRCT scans shows that when arytenoids move from ‘respiration’ ‘phonation’, they perform rotating, translating tilting motion. Moreover, we demonstrate vocal fold elongates by 7% with cricothyroid approximation. conclude MIMCS® well suited planning LFS procedures.
