摘要: Abstract The implementation of a duplex process, which combines plasma nitriding with hard coatings obtained by cathodic arc, on stainless steel substrates has faced adhesion problems that affected the wear and corrosion behavior treated surfaces. One variation arc could improve adhesion, is its combination ion implantation. This work presents results TiTiN bilayer deposition combined implantation (PBIID one group samples was coated using same experimental device substrate at floating potential other commercial PVD system. were characterized SEM, XRD, nanoindentation. evaluated Scratch Test Rockwell C indentation. resistance analyzed pin-on-disk test means anodic polarization tests in NaCl solution, as well Salt Spray Fog Test. PBII&D showed better while TiN presented smallest volume loss, but delamination inside around track evidenced problems. Corrosion improved all benchmarked against nitride substrates, processes offered protection.
