摘要: Background: The aim of the study was to assess two disease-specific quality life (QoL) instruments after limited endoscopic thoracic sympathetic block (TS) at T4 for upper limb hyperhidrosis. Methods: Between 2001 and 2005, 112 patients underwent 223 TS procedures in a prospective study. Some 103 (92·0 per cent) had palmar, 87 (77·7 axillary 75 (67·0 combined hyperhidrosis. QoL questionnaires devised by Keller et al. Milanez de Campos were employed before treatment. Mean(s.d.) follow-up 21·9(10·1) months. Results: A total 106 (94·6 evaluated. All with palmar hyperhidrosis completely or almost dry surgery. Side-effects compensatory sweating gustatory observed 17·0 28·3 cent respectively. improved 100 (Keller) 97·3 (Milanez Campos) illustrated ameliorated scores 78·7 67·8 cent, respectively (both P < 0·001). Both showed that resulted reduced postoperative (P = 0·011, Keller; 0·032, Campos). Conclusion: Endoscopic leads QoL. current fulfilled validation criteria Copyright © 2006 British Journal Surgery Society Ltd. Published John Wiley & Sons,
