Naphthaldehyde–Urea/Thiourea Conjugates as Turn-On Fluorescent Probes for Al3+ Based on Restricted C=N Isomerization

摘要: We have synthesized naphthaldehyde–carbonohydrazone (NC) and naphthaldehyde–thiocarbonohydrazone (NTC) Schiff base ligands by the condensation reaction of 2-hydroxy naphthaldehyde with urea thiourea, respectively. Both these show blue turn-on fluorescence in presence aluminum(III), as a result restricted C=N isomerization mechanism. Aluminum(III) can be detected most competing metal ions using NC NTC. The association constant (log Ka) NTC for Al3+ acetonitrile was calculated to 14.5 14.1,
