摘要: Publisher Summary The human apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I) and C-III (apoC-III) genes have been isolated shown that they are physically linked. This chapter describes the methodology employed to carry out structural comparisons of this gene complex between normal individuals patients with combined apoA-I-apoC-III deficiency premature atherosclerosis indicates presence a DNA insertion in coding regions apoA-I these patients. preliminary observations indicated is result rearrangement apoAI-apoC-III locus has also interfered apoC-III expression. Thus, comparison structures diseased states can reveal mutations affecting expression, which may be directly related development disease. suggests future, it will interesting compare possible differences factors controlling expression states.
